Advanced Practice Provider (NPPA) Lahey Hospital and Medical Center Transplantation and Hepatobiliary Diseases Grow your career as a highly skilled and compassionate Inpatient Transplant Advanced Practitioner and join our prestigious medical team at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center. As an essential member of the transplant care team, the incumbent will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive and exceptional care to patients undergoing kidney & liver transplant procedures and HPB surgeries. The Advanced Practitioner will collaborate closely with transplant surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the successful management and treatment of patients throughout their inpatient stay. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Patient Care: Provide specialized and evidence-based care to patients undergoing transplant procedures. Perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose medical conditions, and develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the medical team. Postoperative Management: Oversee the postoperative recovery of transplant recipients, including monitoring vital signs, managing pain, and identifying any signs of potential complications. Medication Management: Prescribe and manage immunosuppressive medications, adjusting dosages as needed to maintain appropriate levels and prevent rejection. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about pre- and post-transplant care, medication management, lifestyle modifications, and potential risks associated with the procedure. Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with transplant surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of care and optimal patient outcomes. Treatment Planning: Participate actively in case conferences and transplant team meetings to contribute to treatment planning and decision-making. Quality Improvement: Engage in continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the transplant program. Patient Advocacy: Serve as an advocate for patients and their families, ensuring their concerns are addressed and their voices are heard throughout the care process. Compliance and Regulations: Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and institutional policies to ensure the highest standard of care and patient safety. Qualifications: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA) with a valid license in the state and appropriate certification. Minimum of 1 year (preferably 3 years) of experience in transplantation, nephrology, surgery or a related field. Strong knowledge and or interest in the field of kidney transplant procedures, postoperative management, and immunosuppressive therapy. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Empathetic, patient-centered approach to care and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient experiences. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and professional development. Working Environment: This position will be based in an inpatient hospital setting, providing care for transplant patients during their hospital stay.
