You can read more about our team, programs, and impact here: SummaryWe are searching for a Vice President of our Impact Measurement & Management (IMM) team to play a key role in the implementation, continuous enhancement, and ongoing management of Builders Vision's IMM system. Operating under the guidance of the Head of IMM and with the collaborative support of our Senior Associate of IMM, the Vice President will primarily be responsible for supporting IMM activities for Builders Vision's investment portfolios.We are looking for leaderdoer who can pivot easily from designing and managing strategic projects to owning the day-to-day execution of those projects. This person is willing to roll up their sleeves and engage directly in data gathering, analysis, and insight generation while also ensuring those efforts are connected to the platform's strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate brings 5-7+ years of professional experience working in IMM, and exposure to a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment is preferred. This person will be energized by a high volume of work, and adept at navigating competing priorities with sound judgment, a collaborative spirit, and an even disposition. See below for a summary of key responsibilities of the Vice President: Supporting Builders Vision's Impact Investment StrategiesCollaborate with our investment teams to integrate IMM principles and practices into our investment processes across asset classes and maturity levels.Lead the collection and analysis of data on the impact of individual investments and investment portfolios, including a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors related to our investees' work.Produce documents, slide decks, infographics, blog posts, articles, and other materials intended to report on and communicate about Builders Vision's impact strategies with a variety of internal and external audiences.Design and deliver opportunities for investment teams and other staff to generate and use insights about Builders Vision's impact strategies to inform future work.Continually strengthen Builders Vision's IMM principles and practices to align with leading industry practice, our values, and latest science.Collaborate internally with the Data Science and Technology Team to ensure we have the technical infrastructure to facilitate IMM across the platform.Assist with the sourcing and managing of third-party IMM support or research.Periodically manage or support external evaluations of Builders Vision's grantmaking programs."Beyond the Check" Support for BV's PartnersDesign a practical and sustainable framework for Builders Vision to provide value-add support to help investees measure and manage the impact of their work.Develop and deliver a range of resources (e.g., tools, playbooks, workshops, presentation materials, etc.) to help investees use IMM as a value creation lever for their business goals.Ecosystem Engagement Stay informed on emerging norms, practices, and solutions related to measuring and managing impact within the context of impact investing, including those related to ESG factors.Contribute to thought leadership in the field (e.g., participating in research, blog posts, engagement in communities of practices, etc.)Coordinate with staff to support the dissemination of learning to external audiences, such as through conference presentations.Represent BV at conferences and other public events, including as speaker or panel participant, as opportunities arise.Build and sustain relationships with colleagues across BV and the broader Walton ecosystem, as well as with other funders, investors, and key actors in relevant fields.Required Qualifications for this role are as follows:Educational Background, Work Experience & AvailabilityGraduate degree or equivalent experience in sustainability, environmental science, finance, economic development, business, social entrepreneurship, social policy, or a related field with a focus on research methods, evaluation methodologies andor experience in impact measurement. A minimum of 5+ years of relevant work experience in impact measurement and management within the context of impact investing.Candidates located near, or willing to move, to Chicago.Legal eligibility to work in the US.Able to travel on an occasional basis in the U.S. and internationally.Technical Expertise & Experience in IMMSolid grounding in standards, frameworks, and trends in IMM and ESG across investment asset classes and maturity levels, especially those related to climate finance.Experience designing and conducting mixed-methods evaluation andor applied research.Demonstrated track record and high-level of comfort with the collection, analysis, interpretation, and management of quantitative and qualitative impact & ESG data.Data visualization skills, including developing engaging infographics and dashboards.Experience providing coaching and technical assistance on a range of IMM issues and areas.High level of comfort in designing and facilitating workshops in small and large group settings.Strong writer, with the ability to clearly and succinctly present data and key findings to a range of internal and external audiences in a variety of formats.Project Management Expertise & Experience Excellent project management skills with a high attention to detail and the ability to coordinate activities across teams and external consultants.Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage people with different backgrounds and experiences, build alignment and buy in, and inspire action.Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.Proven ability to work as part of a team and across multiple teams.Experience managing external consultants on time-limited projects.Proven ability to be a self-starter and administratively self-sufficient.Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently both virtually and in-person.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge and familiarity with IMM practices within the context of public markets.Knowledge ofexperience in Builders Vision's focus areas including food, agriculture, oceans, energy, and climate justice.Knowledge of the philanthropic sector.Knowledge of third-party platforms for managing and reporting on impact and ESG data.Experience working as a consultant.Experience managing, training, or coaching others.Experience using Salesforce and Tableau.Our Commitment to Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion: Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) are at the core of our mission to shift markets and minds for good.
