Maimonides is an affiliate of Northwell Health and a major clinical training site for SUNY Downstate College of this role as Central Sterile, Assistant Manager, you will supervise and guide sterile processing staff in the reprocessing of reusable instrumentation and equipment. In addition, you will assist the Central Sterilization Director in maintaining a high quality standing by keeping them informed on the condition of all areas, and by training, assistant and motivating the Central Sterilization staff to ensure all work meets standards. You will also interact with the Instrument Technicians, providing ongoing direction and feedback. Specifically, you will: Supervise and guide sterile processing staff in the reprocessing of reusable instrumentation and equipment.Supervise the team to ensure work is carried out according to established procedures as per AORN, OSHA, TJC, IAHCMM, Joint Commission and AAMISupports department objectives, QA programs, safety, environmental and infection control standardsEnsure the Needs List for ASU and G4 is compiled along with Ancillary Clinics, Labor and Delivery & ER instrumentationReviews accuracy of statistical info, sterilization logs and equipment logsSupervises quality and quantity of work in all areas (decontamination, preppack sterilization, sterile storage areas, Ambulatory and Endoscopic areasParticipates in interviewing, disciplinary actions, hiring, orientation and training new employeesAssess staff coverage at all time to ensure optimum staffing based on workflow and throughput. We require: High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates or higher preferred in biological sciences, business administration, management. Current certification in sterile processing (CRCST, CID, CER and CHL essential)Minimum of 5 years of Central Processing experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisorymanagerial capacityDemonstrated knowledge of surgical instruments, trays and equipmentAbility to pass basic data entry and arithmetic skill test, and color differentiation Excellent English written and verbal skillsComputer literacy in MS Word and Excel.
