Schedule: 8:00am-4:30pm8:30am-5:00pm, Monday through FridayMEDICAL ASSISTANT - Up to $2,000 sign-on bonus if eligibleUnder the direction of the Physician, the Medical Assistant performs a variety of patient care, technical and administrative duties to support the work of the Physician and to facilitate the delivery of care and education to patients. The Medical Assistant works closely with the professional staff to provide care and diagnostic testing for adult patients.Escorts patients to exam rooms and provides direct patient carePerform spirometry and walk tests with patientsPrepares exam rooms to ensure they are ready for patients and providers. Keeps the exam rooms stocked with supplies needed to perform patient assessments. Responsible for keeping exam rooms clean and compliant with regular standards.Records vital signs and assists physicians with patient exams. Enters all data into electronic health recordsPerforms checks on emergency equipment logs & medication refrigeration plies with all Managed Care and Quality requirements (required vitals, e-prescribing, etc).Reports all pertinent observations to Physician, Office Manager, Director, or other health team member.Coordinates ancillary testing, prior authorizations, and consultations as necessary.Follows up with patients on test results, Rx refills, and assists with patient education.Functions as a liaison between the patient and their family and the health care team.Supports front desk duties as needed (mail, fax inbox, phones, check-in, co-pay collection, submitting charges to the billing company, etc.)Performs other related duties as required.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:High School Graduate or EquivalentMedical Assistant Certification preferredRequires Basic Life Support CertificationWork Experience:1-3 yearsBasic familiarity with computers. Ability to navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written English with internal and external customers.Ability to comprehend and converse in English to communicate effectively with medical center staff,Ability to demonstrate a full working knowledge of standard concepts, practices, procedures, and policies with the ability to use them in varied situations.Ability to work collaboratively in small teams to improve the operations of the immediate work group(s) by offering ideas, identifying issues, and respecting team membersAbility to provide a high level of customer service to patients, visitors, staff and external customers in a professional, service-oriented, respectful manner using skills in active listening and problem-solving. Ability to remain calm in stressful situations
