*Salary is commensurate with experience.About the JobAs the Chief Financial Officer, you will be responsible for developing and implementing financial strategies to enhance its operational efficiency such as accounting, balance sheet management, financial planning and analysis, corporate treasury, corporate investments, bond guaranteed program, and tax. As a key member of our executive team, you will work closely with other executives to align financial goals with overall business objectives. Your expertise will drive strategic decision-making, providing valuable insights to enhance our financial processes. The Chief Financial Officer reports to the CEO and will provide oversight to Finance, Accounting, Procurement, and Information Technology functions and may provide supervisory oversight to Human Resources. About the CorporationThe Texas Permanent School Fund (PSF) was created by Texas' first Constitution in 1845 as a perpetual fund to support the state's public schools and was seeded with $2 million in 1854. Since that time, the PSF has grown to comprise over $52 billion in assets and will distribute nearly $2.2 billion annually to Texas K-12 schools.Key Responsibilities Include the FollowingDevelop and implement financial strategies by contributing financial and accounting information, analysis, and recommendations aligned with overall business objectives as part of the strategic plan.Direct the preparation of all financial statements and reports for various stakeholders such as the State Auditor's Office, Comptroller of Public Accounts, Legislative Budget Board and other legislative or external stakeholders.Establishes finance operational strategies by evaluating trends; establishing critical measurements; determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies; designing systems; resolving problems and implementing change.Identify and mitigate financial and talent risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations in all functional areas.Lead and mentor a high-performing team of functional directors, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.QualificationsGraduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a focus in business administration, management, accounting, finance, or a related field.Progressive experience in accounting and financial management practices within an investmentpension organization.Experience relating financial experience to a corporate strategic planning process.Experience working with and presenting to corporate boards.Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.Preferred Qualifications Graduate degree from an accredited university with a focus in business administration, management, accounting, finance, or a related field.Management of or closely working with Human Recourses and IT directors to solve business problems.Quantitative analysis.Hands-on experience in investment management, including portfolio management, asset allocation, and investment analysis.Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Certified Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA), Certified Financial Planner (CFP), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) designation.KnowledgeSkillsAbilitiesIn-depth knowledge of investment strategies, asset classes, and financial markets.
