Dermatological Practice located in Southampton seeks a Registered Nurse to assist in outstanding care and concierge services to patients. Join our team and be part of the future of dermatology!Duties may include, but not limited to all or some of the followingGeneral:May need to provide concierge services in addition to typical nursing responsibilitiesThis position is not for a nurse looking to treat patients independently, but instead to assists board certified dermatologists perform procedures. Sterilizes surgical instruments using appropriate method, e.g., steam, chemical, ultrasound, etc..Assist in scheduling patients for lab tests with outside diagnostic centers or hospitalsCharts in medical record as appropriateCalls in prescriptions per physician(s) instructionMust attend all staff meetings and scheduled in-service programsRegularly organize drugsRegularly properly dispose of expired drug samplesOrders medicalsurgical supplies as necessary to maintain a well-stocked clinical area as instructed by supervisorAlways maintain a professional appearancePatient Care Duties:Responsible for assisting the physician (s) in the care of patients to assure optimal medical carePrepares patient for physical examinationsurgeryAssists physician(s) in the physical examinationsurgery of the patientTakes patient histories. Obtains and documents information relating to drug allergies in prominent place on the label located on the front of the chart and on the patient history formPrepares patients for surgical proceduresSets up surgical room for appropriate procedure (s)Assists physician (s) with surgical procedure (s)Obtains patient consent formauthorization before surgeryResponsible for patient education. Hands out educational pamphlets, gives care instructions verbally. Hands out postoperative instruction sheets and preoperative instruction sheetsAnswers patient questions on telephone and take written notes of conversationGives injectionslocal anesthesia per physician(s) instructionMaintains clean, safe and well stocked examination rooms for patient care at all timesKeeps necessary logs documentation for patient recallsPhotographing and recording patient photographsPostoperative calls and liaison between physician (s) and patientOther duties, as deemed necessaryQualificationsExperienceEducationA High School Degree or GEDGraduation from RN programLPN or HCurrent CPR & BCLS certificationCurrent license or certificationContinuing education activityExperience with lasers, however, training will be provided as needed. Outstanding patient communication skills, kind, caring and compassionate.
