The CCG typically have between 0-4 years of consulting experience and join at entry-level as university graduates. The Senior Talent Manager is primarily responsible for the staffing and performance management of ~40-50 consultants; are in constant contact with their consultant group to know and understand their current strengths, development objectives, personal preferences and career goals. You'll also frequently interact with Partners and Talent Managers in other parts of the business to assemble consulting teams and to remediate any issues. A successful Senior Talent Manager will proactively, delicately and empathetically balance the needs of the business alongside the preferences, career goals and development needs of the consultant to deliver appropriate staffing and talent management outcomes. You will work in a tight knit team against demanding timelines to help deliver Oliver Wyman's business model.***This is a hybrid role that will require a presence in the office 3 days per week. There is no option to be fully remote.***Key Responsibilities:Talent Management:Ownership of the project staffing for your consultant population (~40 New York consultants) in consideration with the broader Americas CCG practiceTrack your consultant's performance, skills and development needs to help guide their growth and progression within OWAssist your consultants with any employee relations issues or general Human Capital questionsCoordinate with the Learning and Development team on appropriate training for your consultantsEnsure consultant files (bio slides, project reviews, technical skills, etc.) are kept current and readily available for project proposalsUnderstand the performance management framework and competency model and how it applies to own consultant's situations in parallel with the broader CCG poolParticipate in monthly meetings to discuss consultant performance and highlight any situations that require additional follow upSupport the Regional TM Head in running the semi-annual performance management process; including the analysis of performance outcome resultsLead and support special projects as priority initiatives come into playProject Staffing:Help to ensure all projects are staffed via our weekly staffing process (working across the TM community) by understanding the pipeline and what specific skills are needed for each requestCoordinate and interact daily with the TM team to provide "best fit" solutions on projectsHelp to make tough staffing decisions across the Industry and Capabilities Teams and ensure we are meeting client needsWhen consultants are available; manage all non-billable requests to effectively utilize their timeExperience Required:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience5-7 years of relevant professional experience in a fast-paced and dynamic client services business environmentManagement consulting andor Human Resources experience preferredSkills and Attributes:Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort in having conversations with a variety of stakeholders (Partners-Consultants) as well as projecting confidence in the message that you are deliveringStrong Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills; as well as an ability to learn new tools and become a super-user of the systemsdatabases utilized by the TM teamA strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy as you may be asked to juggle several tasks at once; as well as the ability to organize, prioritize and manage own time effectively to meet deadlinesAbility to work with confidential dataMarsh & McLennan Companies is a global professional services firm providing advice and solutions in the areas of risk, strategy and human capital. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
