Job Description: We are looking for a dedicated and innovative person to fill the position of Senior Chemist, New Product Development. The ideal candidate will have a solid background and experience with new product formulation and development, preferably within the organic and wellness industry. This person is responsible for all internal formulation projects including new product formulations, existing product re-formulations, and product formulation troubleshooting. The role includes the day-to-day guidance and management of the formulation team. In addition, this person will ensure the formulation team meets required deadlines and timelines for new products from concept to product launch. We are looking for someone who can bring innovative and valuable experience as our team is expanding and growing to meet company needs. Reports directly to Senior Director of Product Development and Compliance. Key Responsibilities (included but not limited to):innovative formulations for new products as well as refine formulations as needed for existing products.and manage R&D life cycle of new products including process initiation, research, formulation, and scaling.and manage formulation team to meet deadlines for new product formulations and new product launches.create and implement new product formulation schedules and strategies proactively within the department to ensure all new products are developed and approved while meeting department and company deadlines, standards, and regulatory specifications.and implement solutions for product quality issues that are related to ingredients, formulation, or formulation processes.product approval and prior to launches, compose ingredients listings, ingredient descriptions and new product information to be used for company marketing initiatives.manage, and provide guidance and support to the formulation team including daily schedules, day-to-day tasks, and project progress.and provide weekly and quarterly reports including specific progress as it pertains to each product in formulation.a positive and collaborative work environment encouraging teamwork and professional engagement.Education & Experiencedegree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Nutritional Sciences or other related field.7 years of experience in product development and formulation, preferably within the organic or wellness formulating cosmetics and OTC products is preferred.3 years of experience in management and leading teams.understanding of the organic products market.track record of bringing superior and successful products from concept, through formulation, to launch.management experience with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.SkillsExcellent critical thinking, analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills. Outstanding oral and written communication skills. Strong ability to multitask.Exceptional organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
