We recognize each individual's contributions and treat each other with dignity, respect, and fairness.THE ROLEPurpose and ScopeThe Technical Designer will be involved in all aspects and stages of tech design and perform basic tech design related tasks with a special focus on specing and garment evaluation for all Woven Tops, Bottoms and Denim categories.Job ResponsibilitiesResponsible for making all fit preparations including measuring and reviewing garments against comments and specs provided.Evaluate garments for proper high-level construction, finishing, and municate construction adjustments andor pattern adjustments to factories overseas.Prepare samples for fittings from proto samples to production samplesWork closely with tech design team to record sample status during all stages of development and approval processes.Collaborate with the design and production team on overall product design to offer technical expertise and knowledge.Assist with managing and maintaining samples and sample closetsResponsible for maintaining and updating tech pack files Job Requirements:Must have strong knowledge of working with Denim and Woven garments and have the vocabulary of terminology to communicate with team members and vendors.Familiarity with Denim washes and finishesMust have strong ability to make visual corrections creatively to communicate changes to vendors.Must have a strong understanding of Menswear fit and a critical eye to spot issues.Must have knowledge of garment constructionMust be able to measure accurately, and proficient in both Metric and Imperial measurementsExecute and communicate block, proto and production fitting with vendors, manage all fit comments to meet calendar approval dates.Resourceful, hands-on, and able to sense urgencyStrong work ethics, communication (written & verbal), and interpersonal skillsAbility to be flexible and adaptable within a fast paced environment and be able to meet deadlinesPreferred knowledge of Excel, RLM and Google DriveEducation and Experience:5 years of related experience (as an assistant or technical designer)Menswear experience a must, Denim experiene preferredAssociate's andor Bachelor's Degree preferredPay Range in New York, NY:Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
