Senior Project Development Manager - Real Estate (hybrid) The Detroit Regional Partnership (DRP) is an economic development nonprofit dedicated to serving and promoting the 11-county region of southeast Michigan. Founded in 2019 by a group of business and philanthropic CEOs, our organization is laser-focused on marketing the region to out-of-state and international companies, attracting investments, spurring job growth for all, and sharing the Detroit Region's story with the world. The Detroit Regional Partnership has been awarded an Economic Development Administration(EDA) Build Back Better Regional Challenge (BBBRC) grant and a Strategic Site Readiness Program (SSRP) grant totaling approximately $17 Million over the next 3.5 years to scale our region's industrial site readiness. As a result, DRP is expanding and accelerating its industrial site readiness initiative, the Verified Industrial Properties (VIP) program. DRP is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Project Development Manager to support the region's site readiness initiatives as part of this expansion. With your effective communication and relationship management skills, you will engage a broad swath of the Region's real estate community, public county and municipal partners, site owners, civil engineers, brokers and real estate developers, to promote awareness of the VIP Program and secure the participation of new agricultural sites for rezoning and readying for industrial users.To be successful in this role you must have a strong passion for the Detroit Region, familiarity with the region's real estate market and industrial development. About the Role:·       Daily execution of work related to site readiness including meeting with owners, developers, commercial real estate brokers, county partners and municipalities.·       Develop a process and timeline for readying agricultural sites for re-zoning and industrial development.·       Ability to develop a pipeline of agricultural sites for potential inclusion in the VIP Program and effectively manage the sites through the process.·       Identify project risks and mitigations with the project team and drive for resolution of project issues. ·       Represent DRP at events and trade organizations.·       Develop and deploy technical services to site owners and communities that seek to advance agriculture sites for industrial uses.·       Manage project team and deliverables, working effectively with cross-functional representatives including civil and environmental engineering and consulting firms·       Manage the annual audit of the program. ·       Manage the formalization of agreements and contracts with service providers and other third parties. ·       Perform the follow-up of the awarded grant, including submitting projects reports and deliverables to the funding agency.·       Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation.·       Supports translating the technical aspects of the due diligence reportsprogram to owners and municipalities. About You·       5-7 years of professional experience preferred.·       Working knowledge of real estate development, municipal permitting, general plans, planning and zoning andor economic development. ·       Experience with community engagement a plus.·       Ability to participate in community engagement meetings when necessary.·       Planning Consultant experience a plus·       Fundamental organization, problem-solving, communication and critical thinking skills. ·       Ability to work well in a team environment. ·       Comfort with working in a fast-paced, start-up environment. ·       Highly organized, ability to multi-task, and focus on detail. ·       Willingness to learn new skills and share knowledge.  ·       Bachelor's degree preferred in real estate development, civil engineering, business, urban planning or related field or a combination of experience and education. ·       Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.  ·       Ability to attend events when needed, including community meetings, city council and county commissioner meetings, and in-person meetings at our office in downtown Detroit (hybrid role).·       Reports to the Vice President of Real Estate When you join the Detroit Regional Partnership, you will be part of a small but talented team - a mission minded group of individuals you will be proud to work with.
