Job Description:

Our client, a global lifestyle brand is looking for an Associate Designer for activewear, lounge, sports bras, leggings, sport layers to join their team in NYC. This will be a freelance hybrid position with flex days in the office.Responsibilities:Support design for activewear, lounge, sports bras, leggings, sport layersResearch global market to identify new trends, fabric, trim, fit, and hardware pieces and other raw materialsShop market for trend and inspiration and interpret for the target marketWork closely with the buying and technical design team throughout the development process to ensure the highest level of quality and integrityDesign and create sketches and specs for Product Development team, including front and back sketch, construction details, illustration, material, trims, hardware specPrepare spec sheets with detailed technical informationMaintain design records and ensures line sheets are up to dateParticipate in fitting sessions and provide fit comments to ensure proper fit and brand integrityParticipate in the conceptual development of product lines to create and deliver effective, cohesive product presentations to sell concepts and convince others to adopt a course of actionsProvide recommendations regarding seasonal themes, edits to line, and new conceptsUpdate BOMs in PLMProduce design sketches and make seasonal presentations of product designsCreate style board for area of responsibility, showing silhouette and color, fabric, print or pattern optionsRequired Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design3-5 years of design experienceMust have prior experience in activewear andor sports brasSolid design and conceptual skillsAbility to set a creative tone and to inspire new ideasconceptsTechnical knowledge of fabric construction finishes and techniquesStrong knowledge of silhouettes, fabrication, color, sewing techniques, graphics, and trimTimely sense of trends and market direction encompassing color, fabric, and silhouetteStrong computer skills including Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, PLM, Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookMeets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressureIf you meet the required qualifications and are interested in this role, please apply today.
