We are currently seeking an experienced Estimator in Coppell, TX. Commercial experience is required, and a positive, innovative teamwork attitude is a must. By specializing in these niche areas of design, bid and construction, we are better able to understand our clients' needs and operational goals.Experience:7+ in the construction industry as an estimatorWorked with freight, trucking, and car dealership construction.Proficiency in computer skillsKey Result Areas and Accountabilities:Pre-estimatingVerify the accuracy and completeness of bid documents received from the ownerDistribute bid documents to subcontractorsRespond to subcontractor inquiriesSelect and engage subcontractorsMaintain drawing logs throughout the estimating processEstimating:Perform or delegate quantity takeoffssurveys as requiredSet up and develop the project estimate and detailed scopes of work for each tradeInput and price quantity takeoffssurveys as requiredStay updated on current construction practices, unit costs, and trendsAttend pre-bid meetings, city meetings, and client meetings as neededConduct preliminary site investigations as requiredThoroughly review all plans and specifications for bid projects early in the bid processSecure Bid Bonds as necessaryManage bid day activities, including the delivery of proposals, screening, and selection of vendor quotesOffer value engineering proposalsPrepare bid qualifications as requiredSolicit bids and value engineering proposals from subcontractors and suppliersEducation:High school diplomaBachelor's DegreeCompensation:$100,000 (negotiable based on candidate experience)Top of industry salarybenefits package and performance-based incentivebonus program.
