Location: This position will be based in Valparaiso, IN to better service and grow our customer base in the area. Input, retrieve and archive inspection documents via laptop computer.Make minor repairs with minimal supervision.Perform other duties as assignedHow you will do itThe Technician will be responsible for (if required):Locate and inspect equipment required as per customer's contract.Ensure ULC certificates are kept updatedTest appropriate signals into the monitoring station.Capable of Working on customers networks in conjunction with their IT personnel.Training of the end user on systems if required.Such other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor/Manager.What we look forEducation:High school diploma / College Diploma, CertificatesElectronic Technician CertificateComputer Networking Courses and proficiency.Commitment to upgrading and continuing their educationExperience:Minimum of 2 years of security experience or equivalent.ULC familiarity would be a definite assetSkills:Must be computer literate, have networking ability and a good knowledge of Computer operating systemsMechanical aptitude and be able to use hand and power toolsFluent English language written and verbal skills, demonstrated superior people and telephone skills, excellent organizational skills and the ability to work well under pressure are essentialCustomer Service ExperienceThe ability to meet deadlines and commitments and to adjust/adapt to new ideas and procedures is necessaryOther:Valid driver's license.Open to working out of town, overtime, and participating in on-call rotations.Must be bondable - criminal record check required. Driver's abstract will be required.Johnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a qualified individual with a disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
