Job Description:

SUMMARY: Fabricates parts, cuts and fits materials according to specifications, sands edges, bends and sizes material, glazes glass into frames and cleans machines and shop.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:   Fabricates parts.   Sands edges.   Read blueprints and cuts to specified length.   Drills or punches holes/slots per specifications.   Assembles parts.   Adds hardware to parts by any means stated on blueprint or as instructed by the supervisor.   Cleans machines and work area. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the critical responsibilities.   EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED): and one or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Related experience includes use of hand tools, working in a production environment and reading blueprints.   OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS: Ability to read blueprints and tape measure. Ability to operate a fork truck and overhead crane. Ability to organize and keep a clean shop area. Ability to use a wide variety of hand-tools and other fabrication equipment. Good mechanical skills and an understanding of metal and its properties are preferred.
