For more information, visit .Who You AreSomeone who has integrity, a passion for hospitality, and a desire for excellenceSomeone who possesses the ability to multitask, think on their feet, and problem-solveSomeone who has strong organizational skills and a high attention to detailThis is a seasonal role from April 2024 through early November 2024THE JOBCompleting all tasks assigned by the Executive ChefUsing commercial kitchen equipment to prep food itemsPreparing ingredients by washing and chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and other meal prepMeasuring ingredients and seasonings to be used in cooking according to recipesLabeling and stocking all ingredients so they can be organized and easily accessibleSetting up workstations with necessary ingredients and equipment so that food can be prepared quicklyUndertaking basic cooking duties, such as making sauces and preparing simple dishesWorking efficiently to maximize productionChecking food quality at all points of preparation, transportation and delivery on-siteCleaning and sanitizing the kitchen space as requiredEnsuring that all food and other items are stored properly and sanitary regulations are followed at all timesQualificationsCooking experience required, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook, or prep cookFamiliar with industry's best practicesMust possess the ability to handle multiple tasks at a timeMust be willing to work nights, weekends and holidaysMust have NYC Food Protection CertificatePhysical RequirementsMust be able to work on your feet as well as stationary for at least 10 hoursMust be willing to work long shifts, including overnight shifts if neededMust be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 poundsCompensationHourly range for this role is $20-22
