POSITION SUMMARY Read King is in search of a highly skilled Paralegal to join our dynamic in-house legal department. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of general legal experience with a concentration in real estate transactional work, and be one who thrives in a fast-paced environment, eagerly assumes responsibility, takes initiative, and embodies the spirit of teamwork. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our Legal Platform, providing expert assistance in project organization, and managing a diverse range of legal tasks. The Read King Legal Platform is an integral part of the Company's business and growth strategy, responsible for overseeing all legal matters for the Company. The Company's legal work is sophisticated and varied, encompassing the full scope of commercial real estate, including acquisitions, development and land use, construction, leasing, property management, and dispositions.  In addition, the Legal Platform handles general corporate matters, corporate debt financing and equity capitalizations, contract review, intellectual property matters, and litigation management.POSITION HIGHLIGHTSCollaborate closely with in-house brokers, development and construction, finance and accounting, property management, and senior executives in a problem-solving capacity.Proactively provide legal support on transactions and initiatives in support of the Company's business objectives.Engage in a variety of quality legal work with significant hands-on responsibility from the outset, assisting the Company's lawyers and business leaders.Embrace a company culture that emphasizes personal and professional relationships, is deal driven, family-oriented, entrepreneurial, collegial, and fun.Aspire to a standard of excellence, of going above and above and embracing and embodying the Company's Core Values of: Excellence, Integrity, Accountability, and Innovation.PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIESAssist in the preparation and review of legal documents related to commercial real estate transactions, including but not limited to, leases, purchase and sale agreements and related documents, and financing agreements.Support the legal, finance and accounting teams with respect to corporate formation, governance, and compliance documentation for various business entities.Support the property management team in tenant coordination and asset management matters.Collaborate closely with attorneys and clients on projects related to real estate development and construction, ensuring all legal requirements are met efficiently and certificates of insurance are timely obtained.Manage and organize project-related documents, ensuring timely and organized closings and the filing and recording of all documentation.Conduct legal research and provide summaries on relevant laws, regulations, and legal articles related to commercial real estate and corporate governance.Coordinate and communicate with external parties, including clients, tenants, government agencies, and other stakeholders, to facilitate legal processes.Assist in the preparation for and facilitation of closings of real estate transactions.Perform administrative duties as needed, including maintaining critical dates and calendars, scheduling meetings, and managing correspondence.KEY SKILLSCapable of managing a high volume of projects, maintaining a positive attitude and delivering quality work in a fast-paced environment. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a commitment to professionalism, integrity, accountability, confidentiality, and collegiality.Flexible and quick to adapt to shifting demands, priorities, and opportunities, with the ability to manage workload effectively and efficiently under tight deadlines.Self-starter; calm under tellectually curious and resourceful; confidential and discreet.Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.QUALIFICATIONSA minimum of 5-7 years of experience as a Paralegal, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in a small private practice or small in-house legal department, with a concentration in commercial real estate, real estate development, construction, and finance.Demonstrated experience in project organization and management, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.Excellent research, writing, and communication skills, able to convey complex legal information clearly and concisely.Proficient in the use of legal database software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Power Point and Excel.Paralegal certification or equivalent legal qualification is required.
