We are passionate and committed to doing better for the industry and driving sustainable business practices.We are currently seeking a Senior Technical Designer with experience in women's and girls' activewear, intimates and sleepwear categories to join our product development team. This role will require working in our Asheboro studio located in North Carolina on a hybrid work schedule. The Senior Technical designer will demonstrate expertise and knowledge in fitting, specs, grading, production concepts, practices, and procedures. The senior technical designer will work in a highly collaborative and quickly evolving culture & environment that is undergoing transformation This leadership role interacts with executional, creative, and executive areas of the business and informs strategy iteration. This role collaborates with the product development team, design, and production team and will interface with customers to achieve desired overall fit. The ideal candidate will demonstrate curiosity and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess strong time management and communication skills, have proven success in apparel construction and manufacturing environment with a focus on women's and girls' activewear, intimates and sleepwear. Men's active and knits experience a plus, as well as experience working with Walmart or mass market retailers.Essential Skills7-10 years' experience in technical designExperience with activewear, intimates and sleepwear for Women's and GirlsProficient with PC, Excel, MS Office, Outlook, Flex PLM or similar PLM platformsExcellent interpersonal skills supporting a team environmentStrong planning and organizational skills with a sense of urgency for deadlines and attention to detailAbility to react and recognize to changing work demandsProactively demonstrate problem solving skillsAbility to physically work with garments and samples3D Browzwear experience a plus, but not mandatoryStrong patternmaking skills a plusCollege Degree requiredKey AccountabilitiesLead and monitor the fit process, maintaining desired fit with close collaboration with design and product development teams.Strive to improve fit and construction by analyzing design, sales, and customer feedback.Create appropriate initial garment specifications in a proto tech pack, while leading and organizing fittings with garment measurements and takes initiative to review potential fit issues in advance.Actively communicates and contributes as a team player, working closely with other team members to manage overall workload for construction, grading, poms, fit approvals and factory fit comments.Responsible for overseeing deadline adherence and ensuring clear communication regarding any encountered challenges .Participate in design to production tech pack hand off to ensure production feasibility for garment's proceeding to production.Create measurement specifications and grading based on design's initial direction.Lead and manage fittings and provide guidance and recommendations to improve fit with effective communication to factories.Analyze samples to confirm compliance of measurements, construction, and fit requested.Create and maintain POM's and specs in tech packs throughout life cycle of the garment.Track status of samples from factories throughout fitting process.-Update WIP chart weekly.AS Acme USA is an Equal Opportunity Employer that does not discriminate on the basis of actual or perceived race, creed, color, religion, lineage, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, sex, gender, gender identity, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, genetic information, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.This job is only available for candidates authorized to work in the United States.
