Job Description:

ACE (The Association of Community Employment Programs for the Homeless) seeks a full-time Teacher Curriculum Developer (Math & Vocational) for its vocational rehabilitation program. In this role you will have a wide range of freedom with respect to developing your curriculum and successfully delivering it to ACE clients. You are encouraged to leverage your previous experience to develop new and innovative best practices for our organization.The ideal candidate will deliver lessons to adult learners with passion and enthusiasm; experience with adult learners is a plus but not a firm requirement. The successful candidate will have experience leading & managing a classroom, developing & delivering educational content, and be comfortable with taking ownership of the direction of the mathematics programming and the success of enrolled participants. The candidate in this role will facilitate contextualized math classes, focusing on workplace and life skills, as well as soft-skills classes. The candidate will also coordinate hard-skills training, oversee internships, and manage a caseload.This role reports directly to the Program Director.Application instructions below. Applications submitted via LinkedIn will not be reviewed.  Responsibilities Include:           Classroom Lesson Delivery & Curriculum Development·     Teach contextualized math classes for mixed level adult learners, focusing on workplace and daily living skills·     Develop lesson plans and classroom activities for math classes·     Teach soft-skills classes focusing on workplace and daily living skills·     Develop special programming and field trips to facilitate participants practicing their interpersonal and job search skills in the community·     Administer CASAS standardized assessment periodically to gauge participant progress·     Provide basic computer instruction in computer lab·     Track participant attendance and educational progress Case Management·     Manage a caseload of participants by assisting them in reaching prevocational goals, making referrals as needed, communicating with referring case managers, tracking vocational and educational progress, coaching on job search and interview skills, and providing individualized counseling·     Attend bi-weekly case conferences to report on participant progress·     Utilize trauma-informed practices and creative problem-solving to support participants in achieving success Other Duties·     Coordinate and implement hard skills training for program participants·     Manage participant internships; coordinate with internship hosts·     Utilize CASAS software to track participant learning gains·     Conduct presentations about ACE at partner sites as needed Perform other duties as requested by the Program Director. Skills & Qualifications: ·     At least 1 year of classroom teaching experience·     Bachelor's Degree from an accredited 4 year college or university·     Experience working with adult learners preferred·     Excellent interpersonal skills·     Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Internet research·     Comfortable working with formerly incarcerated individuals in recovery from substance use·     A commitment to helping formerly homeless individuals transition to self-sufficiency and pursue their long-term vocational goals How to Respond: Email your resume and cover letter to .
