Particular focus will be on ProCaps' innovative functional food & beverage products. Additional duties will be to contribute to and support corporate quality initiatives ensuring the Company has only the highest quality products. The company's ongoing growth and expanded product line will provide great opportunities for growth within the organization!Responsibilities OTHER ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESResponsible for quality and continuous improvement within the job scopeResponsible for all actionsresponsibilities as described in company-controlled documentation for this positionCorporate Meeting InvolvementTesting - General:Maintain testing documentation filesVerify formulas documented in manufacturing software system with Formulation SheetCoordinate signing off of all newchanged formulasCreate test sheets (Excel software application)Issue testsReview test results with PD ManagementSubmit PRE parameters to Planning and ProductionTesting - New Product:Perform tests. Liaison with Planning, Production, and QCDevelop and maintain documentation and formsEstablish required product specificationsTesting - Raw Materials:Review results of raw material evaluationAssist QC in method development for material analysisProvide recommendations to PD Manager on feasibility of use of raw materials andor make suggestions for possible changesGenerate proposed material specifications and edit as neededProductionBlending:Create Manufacturing Recipes for all productsReview andor sign all Batch TicketsAssist Production to resolve raw material issues in manufacturingEvaluate production processes using statistical process-control methods in conjunction with Production staffInvestigateTrack production issues involving raw materials and archive for future referenceCurrent Product Evaluation:Characterize current productsIdentify methods to improve products from a raw material aspectContinually evaluate science, raw materials and trends of nutritional science for existing product improvementGenerate and propose formulas for:New product formulationsExisting product formulations"FIX" formulas to deplete excess inventories of discontinued formulas, blended powders, and raw materialsCleaning Codes and Validation:Assign cleaning codesCoordinate with Production and QC to validate cleaning requirementsMaintain formulas documented in software systemManufacturing Software System:Input formulasInput new raw materialsMaintain formulas documented in software systemAd Hoc Projects:Assist Director on various projects as assignedAll other outside projects shall be approved by Director, CEO and PD ManagerPerform other duties and responsibilities, as assignedWhat You BringBachelor's degree in Chemistry, biochemistry, organic chemistry, food science or related field in science Minimum of 2-5 years of formulations experience in the food & beverage industryExperience in bars, functional foods, or ready mix drinks is highly desirableBackground in science, health, or nutritionMust be detail oriented, highly organized and possess strong communication and technical skillsMust be able to interact effectively and professionally with individuals throughout the company, both verbally and in writingAnalytical ability is required in order to gather and summarize data for reports, recommend solutions to various production issues, and prioritize workAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and demonstrated ability to juggle, organize, and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands, and to seek supervisory assistance as appropriateGood understanding of the impact of food and nutrients on healthWorking knowledge of computers and aptitude to learn new programsProficient in MS OfficeWhat We OfferProCaps Laboratories provides:A competitive salaryExcellent Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance Health Savings Account with employer contributionPaid Time Off, Holiday Pay401K plan with generous employer match 100% Company Life and Short-Term Disability CoverageHealth & Wellness ProgramGym Membership Reimbursement ProgramHealthy Vitamin Discount program Employee Referral Program Live and work in one of the most exciting and diverse communities in Nevada.
