Dynamic and growing retail company is now seeking a Project Manager of Construction!As the Project Manager of Construction, you will be responsible for partnering with the Operations Team to ensure all store design projects are properly contract and completed on time and within budget. WHSmith North America, incorporating Marshall Retail Group (MRG) and InMotion, represents over half of the Company's international store estate, with a collection of attractive, successful specialty retail stores located in airports and resorts across North America.BenefitsMedical, Dental & Vision InsuranceFREE Life InsuranceShort- & Long-Term Disability InsuranceGenerous Paid Time Off401k with company matchHuge Employee Discount at all our stores, so check us outAmazing training & career pathCompetitive pay!And more!What You'll DoAssist with the day-to-day organization and performance of all aspects of new store construction, remodels and refurbishments, and all other special projects within the departmentCreate and maintain project files for each projectResponsible for the overall coordination and documentation of the project life cycle following the completion of Construction Documents through to the submission of close-out documentationWork closely with Sr. Director, Construction Management and VP, Design + Construction to identify, procure and contract with qualified construction contractors.Manage the bidding process with both outside general contractors and internal WHSNA (MRGIMEG) self-procured contracts and products.Responsible for tracking the day-to-day progress against the budget and the project construction schedule and flagging complicationsirregularities at the earliest possible moment.Maintain written budget documents (approved capex vs. spend, to include COR's - in budget spreadsheets ) throughout the life of the each project.Effectively communicate project requirements and coordinate with various contractors, designers and vendors to ensure those requirements are metCommunicate on progress andor construction issues for each project with Sr. Director, Construction Management as well other team membersFacilitate in establishing project scope, goals, and deliverables with the outside GC and internal parties on several multifaceted projects simultaneously in conjunction with day-to-day activitiesDevelop and maintain positiveproductive relationships with airport and concessionaire staff, outside consultants, vendors as well as other teams within the organizationTo conduct himherself in the spirit of the WHSNA (MRGIMEG) mission, vision, core values and organizational healthOther duties may be assignedWhat You BringB.S. degree in Engineering or Construction Management or B.A. degree in Architecture helpful3-5 years of experience with a commercial construction, design, or architectural firm, preferablyBasic knowledge of construction accountingUnderstanding of construction industry terms, means, and methods associated with tenant improvement work within multi-retail unit properties, preferably in travel locations andor CasinoResort properties.Excellent organizational skills.Ability to travel up to 60% of the time to remote sites throughout North America with little noticeFamiliarity with PMI Project Management best practicesAdvanced computer skills, including Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft Office (WORD, Excel.)Excellent communication and people skillsDesire to work as a team with a result-driven approachAbility to multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced environmentSatisfactory Criminal Background Check and Drug Testing May be required depending upon locationAdditional Security clearance may be required depending upon locationWe can't wait to meet you so apply today!Marshall Retail Group prides itself on creating unique experiences for customers by developing distinctive retail store concepts that feature and highlight the local culture, community, and lifestyle of the cities in which they are located.
