The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for assisting maintenance staff with general and preventative maintenance services, including work orders, Quick turns, and upkeep of all common areas and grounds. We offer a fast growing, fast-paced environment which is intellectually challenging, yet extremely rewarding and fulfilling due to the social mission that we fulfill.RequirementsESSENTIAL DUTIESPerform routine maintenance around the building such as fixing structural damage, windows, doors or wall repairRepair broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixturesRepair damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occursMaintain building HVAC equipment to keep climate control in the facility functioning properlyAddress and mitigate potential safety hazards to avoid injuriesInspect buildings, equipment and appliances for functionality, checking for faults and fixing them where they exist to keep all things running and functioning properly; make provision for replacement of old and damaged appliancesDevelop and maintain a good relationship with contractors, vendors, and site workers to get the best bargains on property repairs, supplies, and maintenanceDiagnose problems with appliances and facilitate their prompt repairs for the convenience of property users, and carry out repairs on minor problems, such as light fixtures, clogged toilets, leakages, peeling wall and furnitureClean and prep vacated buildings and rooms, getting them ready for new occupants to move inApply preventative measures to the building to reduce the risk of future problemsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentPrior experience as an apartment maintenance technician or in a similar roleHVAC, CMRP, or equivalent certification will be advantageousAbility to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 70 pounds without assistanceDexterity and attention to detailExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsSALARY: $45,000-$58,000 per yearSkills & Abilities3+ years of maintenance experienceStrong knowledge of appliance repairs, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting and drywallAbility to perform general building, plumbing, electrical, painting, and drywall repairs as neededAttention to detail to ensure that all jobs are completed in an exemplary manner and any potential hazards or warning signs of problems are not overlookedStrong Organizational skillsBenefitsSoLa Impact offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid vacation, medical, dental, vision, and life insurance, as well as pet insurance, sick leave, 10 paid holidays, and bereavement days.
