Here you won't just "have a job," you will be helping us to reshape the future of home services by providing reliable, best-in-class service to your neighbors in your community.What You'll DoThe HVAC Commercial Estimator will research potential jobs to bid on, gather job information and prepares bids, involved in job as needed to completion, handling issues and changes as they arise, and develops strong relationships with involved parties.Key performance objectives in order of priority are:· Completes the bid process in order to provide profitable and well-organized projects.· Builds and maintains relationships to create opportunities for departmental growth.· Provide an efficient and profitable project while meeting customer expectations.· Understands and communicates the current and future market environment to better plan and forecast projects.· Partners with vendors to maximize project profitability.Operational ResponsibilitiesContacts organizations to gather job information, analyzes blueprints, determines design capabilities and time, labor and materials needed.Communicates with suppliers to gather material pricing and negotiates to get the best possible price.Collaborates with design team to design and layout CAD drawings to build jobs.Completes job bid packages including all necessary paperwork and submits for timely consideration.Collaborates with design team to ensure all required job permits are obtained.Participates in project management; attends job site meetings and works closely with General Contractors and Internal Foreman to ensure job is going accordingly to bid as required.Receives change orders, confers with General Contractors to explain the need for changes and receives approval for said changes including any necessary cost estimate adjustments, and submits completed change order forms.Addresses job issues, questions and/or concerns as they arise and follows up with engineers and clients as required.Prepares applicable warranty or owner's manuals including equipment specifications; creates cut sheets and completes submittals.What you need to succeed:· Experience: 5+ years of experience in a similar role including previous experience reading and knowledge of blueprints.· Reasoning Development: Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form; deal with problems involving several concrete variables.· Mathematical Development: Ability to compute percentages, interest, profit and loss; basic statistics, ability to read and use graphs/charts and general algebra. Perform arithmetic operations involving all American monetary units.· Language Development: Ability to read reports, workplace rules and procedures; speak with poise and confidence, using correct English. Prepare business letters, summaries, and reports, using prescribed format and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style.· Licensures and Certifications: NA.· Education: High School Diploma.Physical Demands:· The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.o This position requires the employee to communicate verbally and in writing, hear at a conversational level, use both hands and legs, use vision to distinguish basic shades and colors and operate a truck or motor vehicle.o While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent will frequently (34-66% time on job) be required to stand, walk, sit, use fingers, and twist or bend wrists. The incumbent will infrequently (2-5% time on job) be required to lift 10 to 50 pounds and use hands to grip with pressure.
